RESPONSIBLE FINANCING

Green Finance Industry Taskforce (GFIT)

The Green Finance Industry Taskforce (GFIT) was convened by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) from November 2019 to April 2023 to help accelerate the development of green finance through four key initiatives:

  • Develop a taxonomy;

  • Improve disclosures;

  • Foster green finance solutions; and

  • Enhance environmental risk management practices of financial institutions.

The Taskforce comprised representatives from financial institutions, corporates, non-governmental organisations, and financial industry associations.

In January 2024, the Singapore Sustainable Finance Association was established to build on the successful work of GFIT, by fostering collaboration across the financial and real economy sectors to support the growth of Singapore as a trusted, vibrant, and inclusive sustainable finance centre.
